Evolac Engineering offers a wide range of shearing equipment and we recommend you known exactly what you need before you purchase any product on our website. Before purchasing any shearing machines, clippers or trimmers, there are some important things you need to consider:
How many animals (the quantity) do you want to shear (sheep, goats, alpacas, etc.) or clip (dogs, cattle, horses) per day and during the year?
What is the reason for shearing or clipping? Are shows (for different breeds) involved? What's the texture of fleece or hair?
How easy is the equipment to maintain? How will you get the information to do this? Is there any training or literature available for this? What are the most important factors around the maintaining of equipment?
Will you do it yourself or will somebody else do the shearing or clipping. The person who's doing it must know all the details. Is he a professional shearer or am I going to use my own staff?
Do you always have 220volt electricity available? Will it be at your own premises or maybe at different places?
Blades do get blunt and how are you going to sharpening/grind them?
How nervous are the horses, cattle or dogs. Sensitive areas need a smaller and quiet clipper.
How heavy (weight and size) is the equipment and can you shear or clip the whole day?
What type of clothing will I wear while shearing or clipping.
How clean and dry must the animal be before I can start to do the clipping?
Are spare parts, blades and servicing of equipment available?
